This site is a tribute to Prof. Peter Fookes. He is much loved and will always be remembered.

Peter enjoyed a long and distinguished career. Internationally renowned and winning many awards in his chosen field of engineering geology.

No one is quite sure which Peter enjoyed more, steam trains, mentoring new students or writing books and papers? He could be found doing them all, long into his later years. Often at the same time.

Peter passed away peacefully on the 7th of September after a long battle with cancer, aged 87. Dedicated husband to wife Edna, much loved father to 5 children and 12 grandchildren.
